Margaret’s new blanket

Guest blogger: Margaret (of course!)

This past week I made a blanket. We went to the fabric store and got some polar fleece fabric. The kind we picked out had a mark on one edge, so we got it for a discount. My mum brought it home and washed it, but the mark didn’t come out. So we had to cut off that edge and another edge that wasn’t straight.

To make the blanket, we folded it in half and cut along the fold. Then we cut fringe on all of the edges. Since the blanket was doubled we were able to tie two pieces of fringe together to connect the top and bottom. We did this all the way around the blanket. We were worried that it would pull apart so we put yarn through at several places in the middle of the blanket and tied knots. In the end, the knots looked cool because we separated the strands of yarn and made them flare out.

My blanket is soft and cuddly! I have used it quite a bit.
